Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of horizontimes.app and all related services.
Last updated: November 11, 2025
1. Introduction and Agreement
Welcome to Horizon Times ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using horizontimes.app (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you do not have permission to access the Service.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. The Service is intended for individuals 16+ (or the minimum age required by your country's laws to consent to online services). If you are under the age limit, you may only use the Service with a parent/guardian's consent.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and will notify users of material changes through the Service itself.
2. Service Description and Acceptable Use
Horizon Times provides timezone coordination tools for informational and planning purposes. Our Service displays time data from multiple global cities, enables timezone comparisons, and offers meeting time suggestions.
Important: The Service is for informational purposes only and is NOT suitable for mission-critical scheduling such as aviation, medical procedures, financial trading, or emergency services. Always verify time-sensitive information through official sources.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not use our Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service or interfere with any other party's use of the Service.
3. User Accounts and Data Handling
Currently, Horizon Times does not require user accounts for accessing the Service. We process limited technical data (e.g., IP address, device and browser info, timestamps) for security and analytics purposes. Where required by law, we obtain consent for analytics cookies/technologies. See our Privacy Policy for details on categories, purposes, legal bases (e.g., legitimate interests or consent), and user rights (access, deletion, objection).
When you share timeline configurations, the Service generates temporary URLs containing timezone selection data. This data is encoded in the URL itself and is not stored on our servers. Users are responsible for managing and protecting any URLs they choose to share.
We use browser local storage to remember user preferences (such as time format settings) on your device. This data remains on your device and can be cleared through your browser settings.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Horizon Times and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Time zone data includes information from the IANA Time Zone Database and GeoNames. You must comply with any applicable third-party notices or licenses. We make no claim of ownership over such third-party data. While this underlying data is publicly available, our compilation, presentation, and enhancement of this data constitutes our intellectual property.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service or included software, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of that software without our express written permission.
If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, modify, and publish that feedback without restriction.
5. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
- Systematic scraping or automated data extraction from the Service
- Accessing the Service via bots, crawlers, or automated means without our written permission
- Circumventing rate-limiting and technical restrictions
- Using the Service to distribute malware, spam, or harmful code
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems or networks
- Misrepresenting time data obtained from our Service as official or authoritative
- Reselling or commercializing the Service without permission
- Circumventing any technical measures we implement to protect the Service
- Impersonating Horizon Times or falsely claiming affiliation with us
- Using the Service in violation of applicable laws or regulations
We may suspend or terminate access immediately, without notice, if you breach these Terms, create security risk, or engage in fraud/abuse. We may discontinue the Service or any feature at any time.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties and Accuracy Limits
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We may perform maintenance or experience outages. We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).
Timezone data is sourced from GeoNames and the IANA Time Zone Database. While we strive for accuracy, timezone rules can change with little notice due to governmental decisions. Daylight saving time transitions, timezone boundary changes, and political decisions may affect the accuracy of displayed times.
Users must independently verify all time-critical information before making decisions or taking actions based on data from this Service. We explicitly disclaim liability for any losses or damages arising from reliance on our timezone data.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Horizon Times shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.
In no event shall our aggregate liability exceed fifty US dollars ($50.00). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
8. Changes to Terms and Notification
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service interface at least 30 days before the new terms take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree to the new terms, you must stop using the Service.
We will maintain a change log of significant updates to these Terms, including the date and nature of changes, available upon request.
9. Contact Information
If you have any questions about these Terms of Service, please contact us at:
Email: contact@horizontimes.app
We aim to respond to all inquiries within 2 business days. For urgent matters related to security or abuse, please include "URGENT" in your subject line.
10. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Horizon Times regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the subject matter of these Terms.
11. DMCA Notice and Takedown
If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, contact: contact@horizontimes.app with details of the work, the URL, your contact info, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act.
